In the Gorodishchensky district of the Volgograd region, energy companies Rosseti-Yug, together with the police, stopped the activities of three mining farms at once.

The equipment was installed at one of the agro-industrial enterprises, as well as in private farms. The organizers of the underground mining farm placed it in a barn and played audio recordings of sheep bleating and cattle mooing to mask the noise of the devices.

However, this did not help and the power engineers were able to establish an illegal connection to the electrical networks. They emphasized that existing electricity metering tools allow specialists to remotely analyze electricity losses and identify areas of energy theft.

According to Rosseti-Yug specialists, the discovered mining farms collectively consumed about 800,000 kWh, worth over 3 million rubles. Now the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region is dealing with the fact of theft of electricity.

Recently, five residents of the Chelyabinsk region who launched a fictitious company in Irkutsk to sell mining equipment received prison sentences.
