Faro’s wife says he studied hard to avoid becoming a “caricature of Silvio Santos”

Married to the actor and presenter Rodrigo Faro 50, the model Vera Viel 48, spoke about her husband’s dedication to acting Silvio Santos in the film directed by Marcelo Antunez. In an interview with CNN During the premiere of the feature film, on Wednesday night (4), Faro’s wife stated that he dedicated himself to the maximum to deliver the best result in theaters.

“He always showed us how he was doing it, because he studied a lot so as not to become a caricature . He had to do a Silvio for us to see and recognize him”, the model and wife of Rodrigo Faro also assured.

The actor’s effort was so great that, at times, his personality would mix with Silvio’s, says Viel. “Sometimes, he would start talking [igual o Silvio]and I had to say ‘hey, you’re done recording’,” Vera said.

Together for 27 years, when the couple met, Faro was still working as an actor. More than 15 years away from drama, Faro’s last work was in the soap opera “Chamas da Vida” (2008), on Record TV.

“I think he [se] It came out really well. It had been a long time since he had acted. I knew he would do really well,” Vera praised in her conversation with CNN .

In the model’s opinion, the most difficult situation for her husband during the recordings was balancing all his professional obligations — as a presenter and actor — which led him to give up family time. “He was recording the show, the film, it was vacation time… I traveled with the girls, and he couldn’t go,” says Vera Viel.

“He spent the whole month working on the film and he had to wake up very early because of the characterization, which took a long time to do and then took a long time to take off,” he explains. “It was very time-consuming and tiring, but he managed to do it.”

The film portrays the kidnapping suffered by Patrícia Abravanel in 2001, while Silvio Santos opens his heart and shows himself as Senor Abravanel, recalling great moments in his history. “Silvio” premieres in Brazilian cinemas on September 12.
