An impressive phenomenon gave us the moon on the night of September 7, 2025: the total moon eclipse painted the Earth’s satellite in bright red, creating the phenomenon we call “bloody moon”. But why does the moon “bleed”? The eclipse occurs just 2.7 days before the percentage – the closest point of the Moon on the Earth – making it look slightly larger. The most striking element is the intense shading: about 36% of its diameter passes through the darkest part of the earthy shadow, giving a rich, deep red color. This color is created when the sunlight passes through the Earth’s atmosphere, refracts and paints the Moon in shades of red and orange.
