According to the source, the delivery operator is leaving small towns due to insufficient business efficiency. Since mid-March, Samokat has already closed or is closing in Arzamas, Salavat, Zhukovsky, Sergiev Posad, Dmitrov, Nakhabino, Naro-Fominsk, Berezovsky, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Zapadny, Kamensk-Uralsky, Kopeysk, Krasnokamsk, Pervouralsk, Aksai.

One of Vedomosti’s sources even suggested that the partial closure in the regions is preparing the service for a complete cessation of work in Russia. However, sources from VK and Sberbank refute this assumption, noting that the service in the regions is unprofitable and the team is simply trying not to burn money.

It is also noted that one of the problems of the service that influenced the situation was the departure to the United States of the former first deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank Lev Khasis.
