The wholesale price of electricity in our country is getting closer to 300 euros / MWh, under the pressure exerted by the high prices of natural gas and CO2 emission rights.
For today the wholesale price of electricity in the Greek market will reach 285.24 euros / MWh at the same time that in France the price will be 302.14 euros / MWh, in Italy 292.23 euros / MWh and in Switzerland 297, 51 euros / MWh.
The high prices are due to the rally of the price of natural gas and pollutants. Yesterday, the price of natural gas exceeded 90 euros / MWh, at the same time that CO2 emission allowances reached up to 72.9 euros / ton.
According to the data of the energy exchange, the average wholesale price of electricity for the month of November has now reached 230 euros / MWh.
It is recalled that RIS has decided to subsidize the electricity bills in the amount of 39 euros / month, which covers the increase of the wholesale price up to 220 euros / MWh.
According to RIS, if the need arises, a new increase in the subsidy will be considered by the end of the year, in order to cover possible new price increases.
