THE Fast shop suffered an attempted hacker attack in the early hours of this Thursday, 23, and had to momentarily take the website and application off the air, as a preventive measure. On Twitter, messages published by the company’s profile announced the closing of stores until June 26th and the postponement of orders in its virtual store until the 27th.
The company denies the information, but does not confirm the invasion of its Twitter.
“Fast Shop informs that it has identified an attempt of unauthorized access to the company’s systems. As a form of prevention, the company activated the security protocols, and for this reason, the website and the app were temporarily unavailable, but they are already restored and working normally. We emphasize that all stores remain open and operating regularly throughout the country. We emphasize that the entire information base of the company is under strict security processes and there was no evidence of damage to our customers’ data”, the company informed, in a note to the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.
One of the messages published on the company’s profile on Twitter reports about a hacker attack that would have stolen terabytes of information from different cloud computing services. Each terabyte equals 1,024 gigabytes.
The message states that the company was under an extortion attack for the data hijacking. The information would be from both customers and the company itself.
The store’s Twitter profile had not posted messages since June 13 before the messages about data theft and store closures were published.
Despite showing instability this Thursday morning, the Fast Shop website and app were still up.
