An interesting video has been published on the YouTube channel Drag Racing and Car Stuff, which compares the confrontation between the most powerful electric Tesla Model S Plaid and the gasoline Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

The Tesla Model S Plaid is powered by three electric motors (one in the front and two in the rear) with a total output of 1,020 hp. (about 760 kW). At the same time, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h does not exceed 2 s. The factory version of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 with a 5.2-liter V8 engine develops a power of 760 hp. and accelerates to “hundreds” in 3.9 s. However, a tuned version of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which develops a power of 1100 hp, entered the track.
As a result, this Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 beat the Tesla Model S Plaid twice in the classic quarter mile (402 meters) race.
It should be added that the original Tesla Model S entered the market less than 10 years ago, and now the line includes the Tesla Model S Plaid, which is considered the fastest production car in history. The Shelby Mustang line dates back to the 1960s.
Recently we reported that a modified Tesla Model S Plaid, which previously won the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race, has set a new record for electric vehicles on the Laguna Seca racetrack.
