Father of singer Carlos Rivera dies; he was her number one fan

This weekend the sad death of José Gonzalo Gilberto Rivera, father of Tlaxcalan singer Carlos Rivera, who received the news while visiting Spain, was announced.

The municipal president of Huamantla, Tlaxcala, Salvador Santos, broke the news on his social networks, expressing a message of condolences. Hours before the news broke, the singer attended the Spanish radio station Cadena Dial and became the godfather of the program Dial As Is. In addition, he has given several concerts in that country.

Carlos’s father was a man who dedicated himself to raising fighting bulls in Huamantla and married Lourdes Guerra, who was a preschool teacher. They both worked a lot, to the point that Mr. Gilberto had to go out of town constantly, so his children hardly ever saw him. However, over time, the artist recalls, his father compensated for his absence by being present at the best moments of his son.

My father is a character that is very important in my life, because even when I was a child, he separated from my mother and maybe I didn’t see him as much as I would have liked. When he grew up, he completely changed our dynamic and became my best friend and that person who helps me in whatever I want to do.

Mr. Gilberto supported Carlos from the first time he heard him sing at an event and from that time his father became his number one fan.

So far there is no official version of the cause of death. However, local media have assured that he may have suffered a heart attack and although he was treated by the emergency services, nothing could be done about it.

It is worth mentioning that Carlos has not spoken about this unfortunate event and the only thing that is understood is that he continues in Spain due to his work commitments.
