David da Silva Lemos, 31, was sentenced, on Wednesday (14), to 175 years in prison by Four children’s murders . The crime occurred in 2022, in Alvorada, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre.
He was convicted of three triple -qualified homicides, including clumsy, half -cruel and asphyxiation, and a quadruple qualified.
The trial lasted two days, began on Tuesday (13) and ended on Wednesday night. 10 witnesses and a judicial expert were heard. The defendant used the constitutional right to remain silent, and was not interrogated.
Yasmin (11), Donavan (8 years), Giovanna (6 years) and Kimberlly (3 years) were found dead indoors in the Piratini neighborhood. Three showed stab wounds, and one, signs of asphyxiation. David would have used the death of his children to generate suffering in the former partner .
I remember the case
According to the delegate responsible for the investigation, the victims were killed, one by one, while being placed by their father to sleep. In a statement to the police, the man would have justified who killed the children because of fights with the former partner, who supposedly betrayed him.
Three children were found in a room of the house, lying in the beds. The weapon used in the crime would have been a knife, which was found at the scene by the police. The fourth victim, the youngest daughter, was located in another asphyxiated room. At the time, David confessed that he would have acted alone.
Over the weekend of the crime, the children would have gone with their father to the paternal grandmother’s house.
