Fausto Puglisi unveils his first collection for Roberto Cavalli

When, last October, the arrival of Fausto Puglisi was announced by Roberto Cavalli, the news did not come exactly like a bolt from the blue. In fact, there were rumors of his entry into the creative department of the brand for months, and even for years if you think of the first rumors about his contribution to the Florentine maison, when Peter Dundas was appointed to the creative direction three years ago. With his incredibly daring creations, which have always made opulence their stylistic signature, the Sicilian designer has conquered many stars over the years, from Jennifer Lopez to our local Achille Lauro, creating memorable red carpet looks. But today, what will be yours mission by Roberto Cavalli?

The images shared by Fausto Puglisi on his Instagram account show a first and significant style code taken up by the fashion designer, a fundamental part of Cavalli’s DNA: the animal prints, with a particular focus on natural and soft tones of the earth. No chromatic glance or fluorescent shades, but only leopard, zebra and brindle coats declined for clothing according to a “universal” approach, as Puglisi has suggested on social media. A bold diook series yes, but well balanced between streetwear garments – albeit with character – and outfits designed to be shown off at better times and occasions.

In short, dresses ready to tread the international red carpets again: this collection represents a new creative chapter, both for the maison and for Fausto Puglisi, who has shown himself more than enthusiastic to carry on the glamorous heritage of the maison through his own personal stylistic lens. An attempt, that of the designer, of to make cultures and genres talk to each other, in an even more inclusive and future-oriented approach. We just have to wait a few days for the official presentation but, in the meantime, in the gallery you will find a preview of the first creations by the designer for Roberto Cavalli.
