Trump said he is “safe and well” after a security incident at his Florida golf course on Sunday (15).
Authorities believe an armed person was trying to target the former president, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Multiple sources said Secret Service agents fired at the suspect.
The local sheriff’s office says it has arrested one person following the incident at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris said they were “relieved to know” that Trump was safe and had been briefed on the situation, according to the White House.
The Secret Service also said it is working with local authorities to investigate the incident. Officials are expected to provide an update soon.
