Fears of open conflict in Ukraine: Putin’s new message to the West

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian army announced today that one soldier had been killed and six others wounded in the past 24 hours by pro-Russian guerrilla bombings in the east. Ukraineas there is a large number of violations of the ceasefire.

The army said on its Facebook page that it had recorded 96 bombings by guerrillas in the past 24 hours, compared to 84 yesterday. He added that the assailants were using heavy artillery, mortars and Grad rocket launchers.
