According to information from some media, Featherweight issued a brief statement on his Twitter account, in which he assured that his music is for people of legal age and that if he intended to make music for children, already I would be doing it.
My music is not for children. If I wanted to make music for children, I would have already done it, but it’s not like that, my songs are not children’s ballads, they never will be. If there are children chanting my songs, it is due to the irresponsibility of the parents; they are the ones that allow my music to reach them.
In addition, Featherweight stressed that he cannot be in the house of all the families that listen to him to take care of their children and that each parent must take responsibility for what the new generations consume both on television and on social networks.
He mentioned this as a result of the fact that a few days ago it was announced that an 11-year-old boy, originally from Coahuila, Mexico, allegedly took his own life after being punished when his stepfather scolded him for listening to the music of Featherweight at high volume and took the cell phone from him to prevent him from listening to her.
Hours after the scolding, the boy’s body was found hanging from a tree in the patio of his house, leaving a farewell note that said “I am a Featherweight” and, according to the Coahuila State Prosecutor’s Office, the boy indicated that he was Annoyed because “they did not accept him as he was”, because he was not allowed to listen to his idol’s music or dress like the singer.
