Fed: I see one more rate hike this year – Neel Kashkari

Minneapolis Federal Reserve President Neel Kashkari said early Tuesday: “I am one of the Fed policymakers who sees one more rate hike this year.“.

There is still work to do on service sector inflation.

The Fed can return to 2% inflation.

US rates will probably have to rise a little more, and stay there longer, to cool things down – comments made on Monday and now posted on the Minneapolis Fed website.

The overflow of the financial balance sheet will continue for the foreseeable future.

It is possible that the effects of the balance sheet liquidation have not yet been fully felt.

If the government shutdown means we don’t have access to the usual data, we will supplement it with the best private data we can.

You always have to do your best with the best data available; I trust that we will be able to make decisions.

The yield curve divesting is not necessarily bad news, and it could be good news.
