He President of the Atlanta Federal Reserve (Fed), Raphael Bosticdeclared on Tuesday that expects inflation to continue falling slowly and unevenly. He also believes that the “tight labor market” will continue to advance.
Speaking on the U.S. economy at the Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta Alumni Leadership Lunch, Bostic explained his outlook for inflation and the labor market to continue to cool.
“The Fed is in a good situation, with a path to fix inflation without much pain in the labor market,” Bostic added, warning that the central bank is not going to “jump at the first data.”
Market reaction
The US Dollar Index (DXY) falls 0.35% this Tuesday and trades around 102.15, while US Treasury yields move sideways.
