Federal revenue in 2022 reached BRL 2.21 trillion and reached the best annual result since 2000. The amount represents a real increase of 8.18% in relation to the accumulated period from January to December 2021.
In December 2022, the collection reached BRL 210 billion, with a real increase, already corrected for inflation, of 2.47%, compared to December 2021. According to information released this Tuesday (24) by the Federal Revenue Brazilian, the result for the month of December is also the best collection performance since 2000.
“The increase observed in the period can be explained, mainly, by the growth of the payments of Corporate Income Tax (IRPJ) and Social Contribution on Net Income (CSLL)”, says the Revenue in a note.
IRPJ and CSLL collected R$489.6 billion in 2022, registering a real growth of 17.73%. According to the Revenue, this result can be explained by the 82.09% growth in “collection related to the IRPJ and CSLL adjustment declaration, resulting from taxable events that occurred throughout 2021, and the 16.90% increase in collection of the monthly estimate.
“Growth stands out in all forms of profit calculation. In addition, there were atypical payments of around BRL 42 billion, especially by companies linked to the exploitation of commodities, in the period from January to December of this year, and BRL 40 billion, in the same period of 2021.”, highlights the RFB .
Another highlight for the annual collection was the Social Security Revenue, which collected R$ 564.7 billion, with a real increase of 5.98%. According to the Revenue, this result is mainly due to the real increase of 8.23% in the salary mass and the real growth of 12.85% in the collection of the social security contribution of the Simples Nacional.
