The Federal Court of the Federal District denied, this Thursday (18), a request for an injunction (provisional) to remove the president of Inep, Danilo Dupas, from the position.
The request was presented by entities linked to education and takes place on the eve of the Enem.
The action, filed by Education and Citizenship of Afro-descendants and Needy (Educafro), the Brazilian Union of Secondary Students (Ubes) and the National Campaign Institute for the Right to Education, is based on complaints made by former Inep employees of alleged government interference federal government in the elaboration of the Enem.
The plaintiffs called for the immediate removal of Dupas from the position and for a career servant “interventor” among the deans of Inep to be appointed.
Upon analyzing the action, judge Marcelo Rebello Pinheiro, from the 16th Federal Court of Brasília, stated that “there is not enough evidential weight” to remove Dupas from office.
“That is to say, the matter under analysis requires further deepening, with the carrying out of a broad adversary”, pointed out the judge.
“Furthermore, there is a risk of reverse damage, considering that the removal of the INEP manager, an excessively onerous measure, could harm the realization of the first stage of the Enem”, he argued.
The Enem will be applied on November 21st and 28th to more than 3 million students across the country.
