The Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR), and the National Civil Defense, recognized, this Monday (20), an emergency situation in six cities Brazilian women affected by natural disasters. The ordinances with the recognitions were published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).
The municipalities of President Jânio Quadros in Bahia; Dona Ines in Paraíba; Code and Matinha in Maranhão, and Solonópolis in Ceará, were recognized due to the effects of drought and prolonged drought.
In addition to these, the municipality of Lages in Santa Catarina, was also included on the list after recording a hailstorm.
City halls in affected cities can now request resources from the Federal Government to implement emergency civil defense actions.
Among the possible measures are “the purchase of basic food baskets, mineral water, meals for workers and volunteers, as well as cleaning kits and personal and dormitory hygiene items, among others”.
In addition to immediate support, the National Civil Defense continues with its training and qualification actions for civil protection and defense agents.
