Federal Highway Police makes technical cooperation agreement with Ceagesp

The Companhia de Entrepostos e Armazéns Gerais de São Paulo (Ceagesp) and the Federal Highway Police (PRF) celebrate, this Thursday (31), a technical cooperation agreement with the objective of promoting even more security to the visitors of the largest supply in Latin America, the São Paulo Terminal Warehouse (ETSP), in Vila Leopoldina.

The bilateral agreement will make it possible to install more smart cameras in the entrances to Ceagesp. They are equipment with technologies capable of reading characters and vehicle license plates, called OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and LPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition).

According to the CEO of Ceagesp, Colonel Mello Araujo, the intention is to guarantee more security to the approximately 50 thousand individuals who attend the capital’s warehouse daily.

“Ceagesp is an area of the Federal Government with intense movement every day and, therefore, the partnership with the Federal Highway Police is important to bring more security to visitors and to the regulars of the warehouse”, he says.

In addition to the large movement of people, around 12 thousand vehicles enter Ceagesp daily. Through the partnership with PRF, the company will now be able to better control the entry and exit of these vehicles and also control the time they stay inside the warehouse.

“These are improvements that will provide a greater sense of security, for example, to truck drivers”, highlights Mello Araujo. Delays and delays in loading and unloading trucks, which are common complaints from those who work with freight, can be avoided by controlling the length of stay.

For the PRF, the partnership with Ceagesp is positive because it will make it possible to identify vehicles in irregular situations. “If a stolen truck, car or motorcycle enters Ceagesp, it will be immediately identified by the cameras installed in the entrances and which are connected to the Federal Highway Police system”, explains Mello Araujo.

The forecast is that the OCR/LPR cameras will be installed from 30 to 60 days after the formalization of the technical cooperation agreement, this Thursday (31).
