Federal Police combat illegal entry of immigrants in Brazil

The Federal Police (PF) fights this Thursday (1st), a criminal organization that allows the entry of illegal immigrants through the city of Corumbá, on the border between Bolivia and Brazil.

The PF fulfills 26 search and seizure warrants and three preventive arrest warrants in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and the Federal District.

The operation started six months ago, shortly after the PF identified an irregular migratory flow in the region, where those involved used coyotes, who brought immigrants to the national territory, deceiving the inspection, because they enter without authorization and by charging money.

And already in Brazil, immigrants were placed in clandestine buses and taken to São Paulo, where they were employed in the textile industry, facing degrading working conditions. And others were used as “mules” bringing drugs to the country and returning with money to Bolivia.

According to the PF, this criminal scheme involves businessmen in the passenger transport sector, app drivers who transport immigrants at the border or serve as scouts, making it difficult for the police to inspect.

Today’s operation called “Nahuatl” refers to the language and people of Aztec origin, who gave the coyote its name.

This is how criminals who bring illegal immigrants into the country are known.
