The Federal Police concluded the investigation investigating influencer Renato Cariani and two other people for alleged involvement in drug trafficking. With the end of the investigation, the influencer was indicted for money laundering and drug trafficking. In addition to him, Roseli Dorth, Renato's partner, and Fabio Spinola, a friend of the influencer, were also indicted.
In a statement, Renato Cariani's defense informed that “the indictment occurred hastily, on December 18, 2023, before Renato even had the opportunity to provide clarifications.” They also say that the Police Authority's conclusions set out in the report are mistaken, and have been contradicted during the procedure.”
A CNN sought the defenses of Fabio Spinola and Roseli Dorth, but has not received any response so far.

The PF’s action
Operation Hinsberg carried out 18 search and seizure warrants. According to the PF, the gang issued fraudulent invoices from companies duly licensed to sell chemical products in São Paulo. Payment was made in kind through “oranges”. The criminals pretended to be employees of multinationals.
The PF estimates that around 12 tons of chemical components were diverted, such as phenacetin, acetone, ethyl ether, hydrochloric acid, mannitol and ethyl acetate. With this material, it would be possible to manufacture 12 tons of crack and cocaine ready for consumption. Shell companies were used to cover up the scheme.
In a statement, the PF stated that “the people related to the facts investigated will respond, each within their sphere of responsibility, for the crimes of equivalent trafficking, association for the purpose of trafficking, as well as for the crime of money laundering”.
