Federal Police deny having found bodies of the disappeared in the Amazon

THE Federal police of amazon through the Crisis Committee, denied this Saturday (11) that it had found the bodies of indigenist Bruno Araújo Pereira and English journalist Dom Phillips, correspondent for the newspaper “The Guardian”, who disappeared on Sunday (5) in Vale do Javari. .

“The news that are circulating on social networks that the bodies of the disappeared have been found are not correct”, says a statement from the PF.

Therefore, the committee proceeds with river searches and aerial reconnaissance in the region of the Itaquaí River, the last place where the two were seen.

According to the PF, the “apparently human organic materials” found in the river, near the port of Atalaia do Norte, last Friday (10th) are already in the possession of the National Institute of Criminalistics of the Federal Police for analysis.

Blood samples found on the vessel of Amarildo da Costa de Oliveira, 41, known as “Pelado”, on Thursday (9) will also be examined at the institute. He is arrested in flagrante delicto for possession of restricted-use ammunition.
