Federal Revenue seizes more than 20 tons of smuggled garlic in PR

The Federal Revenue seized this Thursday morning (9), a 26-ton load of garlic allegedly smuggled from Argentina during routine operations on BR-277, in Cascavel, in the interior of Paraná.

According to the agency, the load of garlic had “indications of Argentine origin, illegally introduced into Brazil”

The truck approached had left the city of Barracão (PR) and was destined for the city of Maringá, in the north of Paraná.

A video released by the IRS shows the number of bags of garlic seized, covering the entire compartment of the truck. See below:


After the approach, the vehicle, cargo and driver were sent to the Federal Revenue Goods Depot in Cascavel to check the documentation and weigh the cargo, which was valued at approximately R$300,000, and must be destroyed.
