Federal revenue recorded the best result for the month of February of the entire historical series, which began in 1995. This is the second monthly record in 2022. In February, R$ 148.664 billion in taxes and contributions were collected.
The value represents a real increase of 5.27% compared to the same month of 2021. Published by the Federal Revenue this Monday (28), the collection lost pace and retreated 37.46% in relation to the R$ 235.3 billion collected in January of this year.
In the accumulated period from January to February, the collection of taxes reached R$ 383.986 billion, with a real increase of 12.92%. According to the Revenue, it is also the best collection performance of the historical series for the bimester.
The folder also highlights that the results for the two-month period are explained by a rise of 22.36%, again due to atypical payments of IRPJ (Corporate Income Tax) and CSLL (Contribution on Net Income), as well as the deferral of quotas of the IRPF that would be paid in 2021 and the behavior of the compensations made.
In the month, the result was mainly explained by the 6.7% growth in PIS/Cofins collection, influenced by the performance of the financial sector and the fuel sector, as well as the real increase in IOF collections, of 26.3% , especially in credit operations to legal entities and in securities.
