Federica Torchetti from The Catholic School: “The Art of Adapting”

The first time that Federica Torchetti came into contact with the world of cinema was little more than a teenager. In his school in Bisceglie, in the province of Bari, word had spread that Michele Placido was looking for extras for the film The choice, and Federica and her friends did not miss the opportunity. “It was by chance that I rode. From there I never stopped “, Federica tells today that, from that appearance who arrived a bit for fun, she continued her career as an actress until she inaugurated the autumn with two films in the cinema: Mondocane by Alessandro Celli, in which he lent his face to a member of an unscrupulous clan, and The Catholic school by Stefano Mordini, in which she stepped into the shoes of Rosaria Lopez, the girl who died in the Circeo massacre on the night between 29 and 30 September 1975.

Born and raised in the province and arrived in Rome at 19: what aspirations did you have?
“I jumped. After high school I didn’t know what to do but, after making an appearance in Placido’s film, I thought I would like to go down that path. Once I arrived in Rome, however, I realized that it was not a game and that I should study. After two years of preparation, I entered the Volontè ».

If he hadn’t made an appearance for Placido’s film, do you think he would have done this job?
“When I was little I was fascinated by the black and white films that I saw from my grandmother, by that Italian cinema with Loren and Vitti. Maybe”.
