The presenter Fernanda Lima published a tribute to his mother and vented about the pain of grief a week after losing her. Maria Tereza Pereira passed away last Saturday (9), aged 80, due to pancreatic cancer .
In the publication, the model shares a series of videos of her last moments with her mother, while accompanying her to the hospital and taking care of her. “It seems like it was yesterday, it seems like an eternity ago, it seems like a lie. I find myself sending you photos of Maria and I get real. I watch your videos. There are so many… In all happy, impressive! What a joy to live! How generous!” she wrote.
Throughout her text, Fernanda shared memories with her mother. “It's funny that with your game the chips fall without stopping. I remember situations, clashes, happy and sad moments and how you had the flexibility to handle everything. Your way of dealing, of appeasing and also of suffering in silence, without letting anything spill on anyone. So beautiful. So soft,” she says, in the caption.
The model continues: “It was revealing to take care of yourself during those days when we were stuck together. Holding your hand during every discomfort sent me to the public hospital in Porto Alegre when you took me to get stitches on my forehead when I was 7 years old. The stretcher chilled my thin body, contrasted by the warmth of your hand in mine. Without letting go for even a second. Just like I held your fragile hand while the nurses looked for a stubborn vein to pierce in your wrist.”
Fernanda also shared childhood memories. “Bathing you, drying you, brushing your teeth, it reminded me of the wet winter gaucho mornings in Porto Alegre when you woke me up for Sunday school. I couldn’t do anything because I was so sleepy and you dressed me and held my hand, moving the toothbrush, singing softly, funny, patient and playful as always.”
