Fernanda Torres says she was approached to play Odete Roitman in “Vale Tudo”

The actress Fernanda Torres commented on speculation about his participation in the remake of the soap opera “Vale Tudo” and confirmed that it had been “scouted” for the role of the villain Odete Roitman .

“I was approached, yes, but nothing is certain,” the actress told F5 during the launch of the autobiography of José Bonifácio de Oliveira Sobrinho, the former vice president of operations at Globo, better known as Boni.

“Right now, what I’m doing is releasing Walter’s film [Salles]”, she said, referring to the feature film “I’m Still Here”, which will compete for the Golden Lion at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.

And she added that she wouldn’t turn down the role of one of the greatest soap opera villains: “I’ll do anything, you never know. I’ll do anything for love.”

Launched in 1987, the “Vale Tudo” remake will only air in 2025 as part of the broadcaster’s 60th anniversary celebration.

A true classic among soap operas, the plot was written in collaboration between Gilberto Braga, Aguinaldo Silva and Leonor Bassères. The new version will be adapted by Manuela Dias, responsible for “Amor de Mãe” (2019) and “Justiça 2” (2024).

With no names confirmed for the remake yet, it is certain that pre-production of the soap opera has already begun at Estúdios Globo, in Rio de Janeiro.

Recently, Aguinaldo Silva gave his opinion in an interview about who would be the ideal actress to play Odete Roitman, the main villain of the plot.
