Ferrari has announced a partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, which will use the technology group’s core product, the Snapdragon microchip system, to accelerate its digital transformation.
According to Reuters, the agreement concerns both road cars and Ferrari Formula 1 racing team, with the Italian car industry announcing that the first working objects have already been identified, including the so-called digital cockpit.
Ferrari’s new CEO, Benedetto Vinia – a tech industry veteran – said in November that Ferrari would pursue technology partnerships as it moves towards cleaner, more environmentally driven, while seeking to promote high-tech technologies.
“Innovation requires market leaders to work together. Thanks to this agreement, we are expanding our knowledge of digital technologies and web 3.0, which are areas with great potential for the automotive and motorsport industries,” Vinia said in a statement. .
The Snapdragon logo will make its debut in Ferrari’s new Formula 1 car, the F1-75, which will be unveiled at the company’s headquarters in Maranello on February 17.
