Ferrari SP48 Unica unveiled: the world’s only supercar without a rear window

A subsidiary of Ferrari, which is responsible for the development of special projects, yesterday, May 5, officially introduced the world to its new supercar, created under the One-Off program. We are talking about the car SP48 Unica, which is technically a copy of the F8 Tributo coupe, only with a completely unique body design. The company noted that this vehicle was ordered by a longtime client of the brand – he personally took part in the implementation of this project, making personal preferences literally at every stage of design and production. And the taste of this client, apparently, is simply excellent.

From the front panel, the SP48 Unica supercar looks very attractive – it has an attractive perforated bumper, just like the Ferrari Roma, there are two air intakes at once and modern head optics, slightly elongated along the hood. On the hood itself, however, there are also air intakes-tunnels, which gives the front of the car a special impudence. Similar through tunnels can be seen in the rear of the car – they start right behind the vehicle doors and go “out” in the aft of the supercar. All this is probably necessary for downforce and the fight against impressive air currents.

But the main feature of the latest supercar is its rear window, or rather the fact that it is completely absent. Instead of glass, there is a perforated panel above the motor, which visually repeats the decorative ornament on the roof of the vehicle. Moreover, the manufacturer decided to abandon the familiar round brake lights that can be seen on most modern Ferraris, replacing them with dual LED strips. But, in fact, this is where the unique features of the vehicle end, since apart from the body there is nothing surprising in a supercar.

The interior of the SP48 Unica is exactly the same as in most recent cars of the Italian brand, from the innovations you can see only the Alcantara trim and the SP48 Unica logo. Under the hood (in this case, behind the seats), of course, everything is also pretty standard – there is a 3.9-liter V8 with a capacity of 720 horsepower at 770 Nm of torque. In theory, this car can accelerate from zero to hundreds in 2.9 seconds.

The cost of a unique sports car, which will be presented in a single copy, the company does not name.
