Fidan contacted Blinken and Guterres about developments in Syria

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to discuss the latest developments in Syria. Hakan Fidan pointed to the need to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and said that Turkey will do everything it can to prevent terrorist organizations from taking advantage of the current situation, in a clear reference to the presence of the Kurdish PYD and the Kurdish-led US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces. The Turkish foreign minister reportedly told his interlocutor that the international community should intervene to restore infrastructure destroyed in 13 years of war.
