The call for students selected on the Student Financing Fund (Fies) waiting list ends this Friday (2). The stage would end on May 18, however, it was extended by the Ministry of Education.
The folder explained that it made at least seven calls to the candidates. “The extension responds to requests from students interested in financing their studies”, he mentions.
With automatic inclusion, all Fies subscribers who were not selected in the single call can participate in the waiting list. 112,168 vacancies were offered in the first semester. Those that are not occupied will be offered again in the selection process for the second semester.
The selected list is published on the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education. Those summoned have up to three business days to complete their application for contracting the financing.
Subsequently, the candidate has up to five days to present their documentation for validation by the educational institution that signed up.
After analysis and issuance of the Enrollment Regularity Document (DRI) by the university, necessary for contracting the financing, the student has ten days to deliver the information required by the bank agency indicated in the enrollment.
Understand
The candidate is pre-selected on the Fies waiting list when the vacancy that had already been allocated to another candidate, during previous calls, returns to the system because it has not been occupied. That same vacancy is offered to the next student on the list, according to the classification order.
In 2023, Fies offers 112,168 vacancies. The program grants funding to undergraduate students at private higher education institutions. Since 2018, Fies allows zero interest and a financing scale that varies according to the candidate’s family income.
Candidates who have participated in the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem), as of the 2010 edition, and have obtained an arithmetic average of 450 points or more in the tests, in addition to a score greater than zero in the essay, may apply. It is also necessary to have gross monthly family income, per person, of up to three minimum wages.
What is Fies
The fund grants funding to students with gross per capita family income of up to three minimum wages so that they can study in private institutions.
The student must pay the installments after completing the course. Installments are calculated taking into account the income limit, without charging interest.
