Fighter is arrested in Manaus on suspicion of attacking and threatening ex-girlfriend with death

MMA fighter Thiago de Melo, 34, was arrested last Monday (20) in Manaus (AM). He is suspected of committing aggression, injury and threatening to kill his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend. The crime occurred on May 5th.

The victim, who is a singer, reported the case on her social media on May 7th. She posted photos of bruises that were allegedly caused by the attacks. See the report below.

“[Thiago] He tried to kill me in the car by pulling the handbrake several times while I was driving my own vehicle and, not satisfied, when he arrived at my house, he continued the physical and verbal attacks and tried to hit me and kill me with a knife!” , reported.

Jhenifer said that she was able to defend herself because she had taken self-defense classes and then screamed for help. ” My scream was so loud that it woke up the neighbors in the block, who called the concierge. And a neighbor also came to meet us,” he added.

According to the victim, while she was screaming, the attacker told her to stop because he would be arrested. “As I screamed, [ele] He started saying 'baby, stop, I'm going to be arrested. For love'. But I didn't stop because it was ENOUGH. It was my LIFE! And he ran away.”

The singer also wrote that, after reporting the case, she discovered that she was not the fighter's only victim. “I remained silent for a long time. But I took strength from places I never imagined I had and reported it. I asked for help and 'I'm' fighting for myself and for all women who suffer or have suffered domestic violence. And detail: I discovered after all this that I am not the first victim of this deplorable being.”
