The name of the new chronograph was certainly not chosen by chance Breil. 48 “12in fact, it is more than just a number. It is the time with which Filippo Magnini, in 2005, set the Italian record in the 100 meters freestyle during the World Swimming Championships in Montreal. A performance that earned the famous swimmer there gold medal.
Today that victory lives on in the special watch, created by the sportsman together with the brand. A four-handed work, starting from an idea by Filippo, and created in a limited edition. Only 500 copies. “I have always been a watch enthusiast and a collector. I am grateful to Breil for giving me the opportunity to participate in the actual conception and design of a watch. With the 48 ”12 project I was able to give shape to one of my greatest wishes: to create a chronograph that could represent my relationship with time and, at the same time, my personality, as well as my passion for my sport. In swimming – as in other disciplines where you measure yourself over time – every hundredth of a second can make a difference in the performance result. The chrono 48 “12 is animated by the Japanese movement YM82, highly performing, which allows you to measure even the hundredths of a second, contained in a 45 mm steel case in diameter with a blue IP finish – inspired by the color of Olympic swimming pools – extreme in its sporty appearance with a glossy / satin combination. Also the clock face, animated by a motif made in fiberglass, draws water with a “wave” pattern. THE counters of the chronograph are located at 6, 9 and 12 and have a pattern sunray in concentric circles. There date a window is placed a 4 hourswhile the Breil logo and the written 48 “12.
