Film “Priscilla, queen of the desert” will have a sequel; see what is known

The director of the film “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert ” (1994), Stephan Elliott, stated that a sequel to the feature-length musical film will be recorded soon, 30 years after the release of the classic LGBTQIAP+. See below everything that is known about the new production.

The central core of the film, formed by the characters Tick/Mitzi (Hugo Weaving), Adam/Felicia (Guy Pearce) and Bernadette Bassenger (Terence Stamp), as well as bus Priscilla will return for the sequel.

“The original cast is on board, I have a script [já finalizado] that everyone likes. We’re still closing deals… It’s happening,” Elliott said.

In addition to them, new characters will come to life in the continuation of the story, such as Tick's son, who was seven years old and will now be an adult man. “I wrote a bunch of new characters to support a new generation.”

Furthermore, just like the first feature film, the sequence will also be recorded in Australia, while the characters travel on the Priscilla. The disco classics are also confirmed, but the director guarantees that there will also be contemporary hits in the new musical.

Among the new songs is Lady Gaga's song “Born This Way”, which talks about respect for the LGBTQIAP+ community and self-love. “The crowd goes crazy for Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way,' so Gaga's numbers are a possibility for the new film. We have to move with the times,” she adds.

Stephan Elliot intends to act not only as a director, but also as a writer and producer, despite wanting to produce in partnership with someone else. Elliot's statements were made in an interview with the website Deadline and later confirmed by Guardian Australia.
