Within the next few days (24/11) the public consultation of the Environmental Impact Study of the project concerning the “Private Urban Planning of an area of approximately 70 acres, within the property district of the Municipality of Malevizi (former Municipality of Gazi) in Asnros Asmos, is expected to be completed. of the Regional Unit of Heraklion, Crete “.

This is one of the largest complex investments promoted in the area, which envisages the development of homes, hotels, sports facilities and shopping malls as well as care units.

The project is part of the tourist facilities and urban development projects as houses are to be built to serve the housing needs of the area and a 100-bed hotel unit to serve seasonal leisure needs.

The size of the housing unit was studied to serve 350 people, of which 100 is estimated as a seasonal population and 250 as a permanent population.

The construction of the residential part of the investment is expected to absorb the residential pressures that exist in the wider area, hosting 35 houses, 1 hotel unit and a care unit.

The first phase of operation of the project includes the construction of basic infrastructure networks and will last about two years. The construction of the infrastructure works includes, among others: earthworks, asphalt paving works, construction of water supply, sewerage and electricity networks, construction of telecommunication network, planting of green spaces as well as paving works of common areas.

With the completion of the basic infrastructure projects, the area is given for construction to the owners of the plots that will be created.

The development of the project will take place in various phases, with its completion estimated at 10 years from the distribution of the plots. Therefore the process of completing the residential development will take place at a later time.

The big tourist investments of Crete

The tourism projects that are promoted in Crete are important, with the interest of the potential investors remaining high. The amount of investment for “N. Kazantzakis”, ie the current airport of Heraklion, will exceed 1 billion, since after its closure, it will be utilized, hosting tourist facilities and other uses.

Hotels, casinos, conference facilities, shopping malls and other uses are also provided in the area of the former American base in Heraklion, what many describe as “small Greek”.

The competition of HRDH for the utilization of the area is already in progress while 4 schemes have expressed interest. Finally, the image of the great tourist projects of Crete is closed by the implementation of the integrated tourist complex Elounda Hills in Agios Nikolaos, Crete.

The investment, with a total budget of over 400 million euros, is already in the start-up phase and includes, among other things, luxury housing complexes, hotels, marinas, etc. The body of the investment is the Russian interest Mirum Hellas.
