Finally (almost) in masks and in Italy

Italy is preparing to turn another important page. From May 1, masks will not be mandatory in almost all interiors.

At the same time, the well-known “green card” should no longer be displayed for access, the vaccination certificate. An essential step towards the complete return to the familiar everyday life. As of April 1, protective masks have been removed in the open.

But there are some exceptions. According to the Italian press, masks will not be needed in stadiums, but in indoor pale de sports, at least at this stage, they will not be a thing of the past.

Experts point out that in the last week, on average, 19 hundred and forty people lost their lives every day in the country. The coronavirus, that is, continues to circulate, caution is required and in October it is considered certain that another dose of vaccine will be given, adapted to the new variants.

Increase in tourism

In the meantime, as the newspaper La Repubblica writes today, protective masks should continue to be used in urban public transport, theaters and cinemas, but also in some commercial enterprises, such as hairdressers.

The goal of Mario Draghi’s government is to be able to get the country out of the state of emergency, but also to maintain some basic security standards.

However, bookings for the summer season and Catholic Easter week have already begun, eight out of ten hotels in major Italian cities were full. It is certainly indicative that huge queues formed outside the Vatican museums. According to forecasts, in June, Rome Airport, Leonardo da Vinci, will be operational again at 85% of its total capacity. Two thirds of Italians, at the same time, state that they will go on vacation even for a few days. After two years of stress and restrictions, everyone needs a little relaxation, even in Italy.
