Finally art! The exhibits to see now

Flexibility. It is the key word that unites the exhibitions scheduled in the first months of 2021: after an unreal year, with exhibitions that opened and then closed, they have been postponed until a later date, they have organized entrances with limited access or, simply, they have been canceled, there is a great desire to start over. There is no shortage of big names: Andy Warhol and Tina Modotti, Umberto Boccioni and Alberto Savinio, Sofonisba Anguissola and Kandinsky, Robert Rauschenberg… and Dante Alighieri. 2021 is indeed the year of the great celebrations for the seven hundred years since the death of the great poet, and there are several appointments that have been dedicated to investigate his biography (which, unexpectedly, in some ways we still know very little), the works of his time and those that were inspired by the work that gave him immortality , that Divine Comedy that immediately, from the fourteenth century to the present day, inspired generations of painters and sculptors.

And then there are the women: the painters are the protagonists of the Palazzo Reale exhibition in Milan, The ladies of art: Sofonisba Anguissola, Artemisia Gentileschi, Lavinia Fontana are the most famous painters active in Italy between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, but the Milanese exhibition (which is part of the program The talents of women, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Lombard capital) presents many others, more than thirty, some of which still semi-unknown, such as the Roman Claudia del Bufalo, who had never before been taken into consideration by the history of art. And, again speaking of women, how not to mention the exhibition that Mudec dedicates to Tina Modotti?

Flexibility, it was said: for some of the appointments scheduled in the very first months of 2021, opening dates and visiting methods have not yet been established, and all exhibition venues are ready to deal with any program changes.
