Two influential British financial publications, the Financial Times (FT) and The Economist magazine, are backing Labor in Thursday’s UK general election, as is the Sunday Times, a newspaper which however carries the label of the right. The Financial Times, in an editorial published in today’s paper, says it is not politically affiliated and that it believes in “liberal democracy, free trade and private enterprise and a UK that is open to the outside world”.
