Europe is in the middle of an unprecedented arms output of weapons, with weapons construction growing at three times as much as the peace period. According to an analysis of the Financial Times based on satellite radar data, more than 7 million square meters of new industrial spaces dedicated exclusively to the production of war material across the continent have been added. Following the Russian full -scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the European defense sector passed through the promises and political statements in tangible industrial development. The Financial Times survey examined data from 150 facilities or related to 37 companies, recording extensive construction projects – from new production lines and ammunition to roads and supporting infrastructure.
