Financial Times: Italy wants to produce mRNA vaccines against Covid-19

THE Italy has held talks with pharmaceutical companies to begin production of messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines in the country, the Financial Times reports.

Rome discussed domestic production of vaccines based on mRNA with Moderna Inc, the Swiss Novartis AG and the Italian ReiThera, is added to the British newspaper article, which cites people who know the case, as reported by Reuters and the Athens News Agency.

It is noted that A recent Politico article reported that the EU is essentially taking sides on the vaccine issue, clearly showing its preference for mRNA technology.

The new doses of the vaccine, which will be distributed between 2021 and 2023, are expected to help the EU if enhanced vaccines are needed to fight coronavirus mutations, Ursula von der Leyen said.
