Find out which country celebrities were discovered on reality shows

Achieving success in the country music is no easy task. Several artists who marked eras and others who are still on the rise began their careers in music contests very common on open television.

Even though they didn't win the edition, these singers found their way into the media after these programs aired. Check out some of the country people who have been on reality shows.

Lauana Prado – “The Voice” (2012) and “Mulheres que Brilham” (2014)

Still using the name Mayra Prado — which was later changed to not resemble the duo Maiara & Maraisa — the artist participated in the first edition of “The Voice Brasil”, in 2012, on Carlinhos Brown’s team. Lauana went to the third stage of the program, when she performed live and was eliminated.

In 2014, at the age of 25, the singer won the reality show “Mulheres que Brilham”, on Raul Gil's program. Among the prizes, she won a one-year contract with Sony Music, an opportunity she used to record her first CD, “24 Horas por Segundo”.

Bruninho and Davi – “Garagem do Faustão” (2011)

The duo, now known for the hits “E Essa Boca Aí”, “Onde Nasce o Sol” and “Se Namorar Fosse Bom”, were finalists in the music competition competing with Cristiano Araújo and Thaeme Mariôto. Singers from Campo Grande competed with the song “Vamo Mexe”. They had started two years ago — in 2009 — and had already recorded two CDs at the time of “Garagem do Faustão”.

The winner of the 2011 competition was the duo Helber & Alan with the song “Sai da Minha Vida”.

Cristiano Araújo – “Garagem do Faustão” (2011)

Owner of the hits “Caso Indefinite” and “Maus Bocados”, the singer was runner-up in the reality edition with 28% of the votes. Araújo competed with the song “Efeitos”, which was later successful and boosted the artist's career — the official clip on YouTube surpassed 54 million views in 11 years.

The singer passed away in 2015, aged 29, after a car accident.

Thaeme Mariôto – “Idols” (2007)

At the age of 21, the artist participated in the reality show “Ídolos” and was the only woman to win the program that ran for seven editions. In a Publication on Instagram in August 2022, in which the singer celebrated her 15th anniversary in the competition, she said: “It was there that the dream of making a living from music was reborn, it was there that my life took a 180-degree turn.”

In 2011, the duo Thaeme & Thiago was formed, leveraging the success of the country folk. The two were recognized in the university world with the songs “Cafajeste”, “Ai Que Dó” and “O Que Ação na Balada”.

Munhoz and Mariano – “Garagem do Faustão” (2010)

The duo won the competition with 35% of the votes in the final. “I don’t know how I didn’t have a heart attack that day” commented Mariano in a publication in which he remembered his participation in the reality show.

Three years later, in 2013, the duo won the “Best of the Year” award on Rede Globo’s “Domingão do Faustão” program. The duo received the honor in the “Song of the Year” category with the hit “Camaro Amarelo”.
