Netflix is the most popular platform for watching movies and series among Brazilians, according to a survey carried out by JustWatch the largest international streaming guide.
The company holds 30% of the Brazilian market, according to data for the fourth quarter of 2022.
It leads with a 9% difference to the second place, which is Prime Video, with 21%.
In third and fourth place are Disney+ and HBO Max, respectively, which, according to the survey, were the platforms that grew the most in the market in 2022.

Despite Netflix’s solid leadership, the company started the year with 31%, that is, ended the year with a loss of 1%. As well as streaming from Amazon, which had 22% of the Brazilian market.
While Disney and HBO’s platforms saw significant gains.
In addition, AppleTV+ started to be considered separately from “others” and Telecine streaming ceased to exist.

Netflix is a veteran in the market, launched in Brazil in 2011, while competitors have arrived in recent years.
The next to arrive in the Brazilian market was Globoplay, in 2015, and, in the following year, Prime Video.
The others are more recent: Disney streamings arrived in 2019 and 2021; Apple’s debuted at the end of 2021; and HBO Max also arrived in Brazil in 2021, like Star+.
