The operation by the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) to arrest 13 people accused of involvement in the ambush on October 27th against the Mafia Azul fans, from Cruzeiro, ended with 10 people arrested. Two others involved had already been arrested in November.
Three men were not located during the operation, including two directors and the president of the fans, Jorge Luiz Sampaio do Santos. According to Mancha’s lawyer, Gilberto Quintanilha, they are in São Paulo and “will only hand themselves in when the defense knows what the charges are”.
Questioned by CNN the lawyer said that the three were not present in the ambush on October 27, when 17 people were injured and one man died. The case occurred on Rodovia Fernão Dias, in Mairiporã.
