After two days of action by the Fire Department, the large fire, which hit a fuel distributor in Chapecó (SC), was contained. The flames started on Monday morning (13) and the situation returned to normal around 7pm this Wednesday (15).
“We managed to reduce the burning points from three to one. So, the fire is under control, it does not pose any considerable risk”, informed Sergeant Duan.
He adds that, despite two million liters of fuel catching fire, the corporation managed to preserve another 13 million.
There is still a focus of flames at the location, but, according to the agent, there is no possibility of it spreading. Therefore, the operation was considered closed.
