Fire at rave: see images of what happened at the party venue

One day after the fire that interrupted an electronic music party in Altinópolis, in the interior of São Paulo, many attendees returned to the venue in an attempt to recover the belongings they left behind. Images posted on social media and verified by CNN show that the fire spread to the area where the participants were camping.

Several posts on social media report looting and ransacking of stalls, confirmed by the organizers of the “Anacã Festival”. In a post on Instagram, the organization stated that it “will catalog the items found so that the public can recover their belongings”.

In addition to the reports of looting, there were reports that, on the night of the fire (24), the organization had said that the fire would not spread beyond the parking lot. Witnesses confirmed this version, reporting that the fire quickly spread to where the party was taking place.

Isabella Rocha, a 26-year-old administrative agent, said the music at the party was briefly interrupted so that the cars could be moved, but the situation quickly became desperate. “We went up to the dirt road and, in the middle of it, we could hear the fire burning the trees. It was a moment of despair,” she said.

The Anacã Festival, through a note, informed that the event had all the operating permits and that it is currently focused on locating the people who went to shelters and recovering the belongings left there. Below, the full note.

In videos published this Sunday (25), it is possible to see the stage and tent area with fire marks and ashes from trees burned by the fire. In one publication, the damage caused last night is possible.

Check out the Anacã Festival note:

“We are currently focused on finding people who have been taken to shelters and are cut off from communication so they can reunite with friends and family. We are also working to recover any belongings left at the farm and return them. We will discuss other matters further once these priorities are resolved. The event had all necessary operating permits, including approval from the fire department and the city.”
