Fire hits apartment in Barra, Salvador

A fire broke out in an apartment this Thursday morning (10), on Rua Presidente Kennedy, in the Barra neighborhood, coastal area of ​​Salvador. The Fire Department was called at around 6:40 am and managed to control the flames.

According to the corporation, There were no injuries, and no one was trapped in the property .

A woman and her two-year-old daughter were in the apartment, but managed to get out before the fire spread. Both received care from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), as they were nervous. Another resident of the building was also treated after suffering an anxiety attack.

According to the apartment resident, the fire had started in the kitchen. She reported having used the microwave shortly before the flames appeared, but there is still no confirmation on the exact origin of the fire. Neighbors reported that they heard popping noises before the fire started.


Firefighter teams continue working to ensure the safety of the site and investigate the causes of the incident.
