It took Fire Department agents more than 12 hours to control a fire in a cosmetics factory in Queimados, Baixada Fluminense. The incident began last Wednesday night (1st).
The flames could be observed from the lane of the Presidente Dutra Highway, towards São Paulo. There are no reports of deaths or injuries.
In images circulating on the internet, it is possible to see columns of fire and a lot of smoke spread. The fire quickly consumed the warehouse, which stored flammable chemicals.
Three fire stations were called in to help contain the flames. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Until the early afternoon of January 2nd, teams from the Fire Department worked in the rubble of what was left of the factory.
“Fortunately, thanks to the quick and efficient action of the fire team and the tireless work of our employees, the fire was controlled, the situation is under control and there were no victims,” said the company Probelle, in a statement.
