A fire hit the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Santa Cruz Hospital, in the Batel neighborhood, in Curitiba, last Tuesday afternoon (10).
According to the Fire Department, the flames started at around 5:20 pm, on the second floor of the private hospital, where the general ICU is located. The ward had 18 beds which, according to the corporation, were fully occupied.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, those responsible for the hospital’s security had already removed people from the first and second floors of the building. Furthermore, the building’s firefighters were already fighting the flames.
According to the Fire Department, the fire started after a hospital oxygen leak. Nobody was injured.
