Fire hits old house in downtown Rio

Firefighters were called on the night of Monday (31), around 10 pm, to contain a fire in an old mansion Located on Rua do Libado, in downtown Rio de Janeiro.

The property, which housed commercial establishments, is next to other historical mansions. There was no record of injuries.

Central barracks teams worked all dawn to control the flames and continue on the scene on the morning of Tuesday (01) performing the aftermath to avoid new fire outbreaks.

A man died after a mansion collapsed in downtown Rio de Janeiro (RJ) on March 20.

The information was confirmed to CNN by the Military Fire Department. The victim was in a car and was hit by the rubble.

The accident occurred in a residential building on Senador Pompeu Street, which was banned after the accident.
