Fire hits Ozempic manufacturer’s building in Copenhagen

A fire broke out in a building belonging to Novo Nordisk, the company that manufactures Ozempic, in the suburb of Bagsvaerd, in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, this Tuesday (18), the pharmaceutical giant said.

“We can confirm that a fire occurred this afternoon on the roof of an office building rented by Novo Nordisk in Krogshojvej, in Bagsvaerd,” said the company spokesperson.

“The fire department and police are on site and the fire is under control,” he added.

The case occurred in a building on the same street as Novo Nordisk’s headquarters and was soon controlled by the fire department and police, according to the spokesperson.

A video on the website of Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet showed flames and thick black smoke coming from the building.

Local police reported that they were called to a fire report in Krogshojvej, in Bagsvaerd, which is about 13 kilometers northeast of the center of Copenhagen.

About 10 minutes later, authorities highlighted that the fire was under control.

It is the third time in just over a month that the maker of Wegovy and Ozempic has been hit by a fire.

There was such a case at a construction site in the Danish city of Kalundborg on May 16. Days later, on May 22, an office building in Bagsvaerd was hit by fire.
